Remember to let her into your heart, Then you can start to make it better. Hey jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. The minute you let her under your skin, Then you begin to make it better. And anytime you feel the pain, hey jude, refrain, Don't carry the world upon your shoulders. For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool. By making his world a little colder.[/classy] | |

+ Analytical Shirou enjoys analyzing things, whether they be voices or people or actions. All information received is sifted, weighed, analyzed, judged, and filed away for later perusal.
+ Intellectual He is a highly internal person, living in his mind as opposed to the outside world, and it shows. He is rational rather than emotional and gravitates toward activities that require more brain than brawn. In addition to this, he is naturally rather intelligent and can easily grasp most subjects, particularly those related to science or mathematics.
+ Perceptive Shirou has a tendency to notice things; he often displays remarkable insight. Being blind usually requires such a trait, though, for someone with less perception would likely be unable to notice the minute changes in their environment.
+ Calm A rather mellow and placid person, he lacks the violent and confrontational attitude that tends to plague more outgoing persons. He could almost be described as laid-back. He is generally composed and little seems to phase or surprise him, as he attempts to keep himself in check.
+ Polite Well-versed in etiquette, Shirou is always courteous and well-mannered toward his peers and anyone who happens to be around him. It is in his nature to be respectful and considerate of others.
+ Perfectionist Shirou has high standards, and attempts to uphold these high standards. He takes great pleasure in performing activities to the best of his abilities and frequently becomes depressed if he cannot.[/ul]
PERSONAL WEAKNESSES
- Mistrustful Shirou is naturally mistrustful of others, thanks to his mother. He is always afraid that someone might misinform him, misguide him, or otherwise take advantage of him due to his blindness, leading him to over analyze and second-guess people.
- Touchy The few things that do draw a negative emotional reaction are rather obvious. While he has no trouble with discussing his blindness with others, he is loathe to have others assume he is crippled or disabled, and he becomes irritable and brusque if there is even a suggestion of it in the air.
- Withdrawn He is not quick to socialize with people; Shirou prefers the predictability and logicality of numbers and equations, and is thus apt to seem as if he's not quite all there.
- Uptight Shirou is formal. There is no doubt about that. With formality tends to come a certain rigid frame of conventional manners, opinions, and tastes. He is not inclined to change these notions, either (the one exception would be "normalcy", as he believes that it cannot be defined and readily takes almost anything as "normal" if it is explained properly enough).
- Secretive He does not like divulging personal information about himself – another product of his tense upbringing and his paranoia that someone, somewhere would be willing to harm him in some manner.
- Tenacious Once decisions, impressions, thoughts are made and created, he is not quick to change them. Shirou is quite set in his ways and could almost be described as bullheaded.[/ul]
PREFERENCES
+ Classical novels He likes the language used and he finds them very pleasing to listen to. In his free time, if he's not working on something related to mathematics, he's usually listening to a good book.
+ Earphones Since Shirou abhors drawing attention to himself, and since he utilizes sound as opposed to sight, he will usually have a pair of earphones on him, ready to use on computers, phones, or any sort of machine that allows the utilization of them.
+ Cleanliness He hates being dirty, and he hates dirty rooms or anything dusty or smelly; more often than not, one can see him fidgeting in an attempt to make sure that there are no wrinkles in his uniform.
+ Good manners He's quite neurotic about them, really. He likes looking proper, and he likes good etiquette, and struggles to uphold his rather high standards constantly.
+ Talkative people When one is listening to someone talk, that means that there is that much less talking to be done for the listener. He likes listening to people speak, and he enjoys talkative people for that exact same reason.
+ People watching Er, listening. You can tell quite a lot from a person's voice; their gender, age, what emotions they may be feeling. If they're distant, or comfortable, or uncomfortable, or cold.
+ Math, science, numbers And anything related to them.[/ul]
DETESTMENTS
- Vulgarity Shirou detests swearing, crudeness, and general vulgarity. In fact, he's apt to avoid such people like some sort of plague.
- Being underestimated Oh lo and behold. He suddenly becomes brusque and sharp in tone and words if someone would so much suggest that he is crippled. Shirou is not a cripple and he is quick to prove those who assume he is wrong.
- Being mislead One of the things he is afraid of, and one of the things he loathes most of all. Being taken advantage of is fairly on par as well.
- Criticism In a similar vein, he dislikes being criticized, whether this is for his tastes or his mathematics or for something else entirely. He will either tune it out entirely or politely attempt to dissuade the criticism.
- Confrontation He does not like stare-offs (hahah), verbal insults, arguments, or any of the sort. If any such confrontation concerns him or occurs around him, he will attempt to nullify the argument.
- The supernatural With realism and an analytical mind comes the tendency reject things that do not have a basis in science. As such he has a natural disinclination toward ghosts or spirits of any sort, and anything in general to do with the occult.
- Smoke It has a tendency to clog his lungs and make him cough. Therefore, he dislikes it. And this includes any sort of smoke; smoke from something burning, fire, cigarettes, anything really.[/ul]
TENDENCIES
+ Touching objects, other people, his surroundings
+ Observing others[/ul]
FEARS
- Failing in his endeavour for higher education[/ul][/classy]

As he is blind, his other senses are highly developed. He has an acute sense of smell and hearing, and he can easily sense changes in his immediate environment. Shirou can go so far as to “feel” the presence of other people. As a blind person, he is also rather “touchy”; he touches his environment and those around him, never in a suggestive manner but instead to understand individuals, their size and, at the very least, their height. He never touches someone else’s face, believing this to be too personal and will instead dub light touches to the arm or shoulders when identifying a person (or simply being amiable) as sufficient. He is sensitive to texture and can easily distinguish different fabrics, clothes, stone, and other such things simply by feeling. Shirou is also capable of identifying individuals by their voice.
He has an outstanding memory, many facts and details locked away in his mind for safekeeping. He can do fairly complex math in his head and retains new information easily and quickly. His brain could easily be described as mathematical and analytical in nature; he is drawn to the more complex subjects of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, and finds them fascinating. Literature is aesthetically appreciated but it is not something particularly important to him. His memory borders on eidetic in nature, barring of course the visual aspect. If something cannot be done in his mind, Shirou may simply write it using his Perkins writer, which, when connected to a computer, can translate the Braille into “regular” writing. He also uses the Nemeth system for mathematics. Since getting his work marked – written in Braille or Nemeth – is difficult, he either relies on his mother to handwrite it for him or seeks the assistance of a professional. He has never given his work to another student, partially because of his paranoia that someone might write it improperly on purpose, and partially because of the lack of high school students who actually know either of the systems.[/ul][/classy]
